For my first foray into food blogging, I decided to play it safe and make polenta and italian sausage. Polenta seems like a daunting task, but it’s pretty easy as long as you keep your eye on it. This meal takes very little time to make and even less time to eat.
[Updated]: I failed to provide further explanation. Polenta is ground corn flour, also a whole grain (so it’s good for you). It acts as a base (or a bread) for pretty much anything you can throw on top of it. Buy a bag of stone-ground corn meal (the best stuff around), add equal parts water. Cook and add additional water until it becomes a silky smooth texture. You can add butter, black pepper, and cheese to bump up the flavor even more. <—Highly recommended. The sausage was store bought and nothing special was done to it. Cooked in a pan with oil.
